Profits Hidden Under the Fallen Leaves

Although it is much more convenient to throw away our used plates than to have a mountain of dirty dishes growing in the kitchen sink every day waiting to be washed. This convenience comes at a high price for our planet. Not only does the production and distribution of these plastics have ill-effects on the earth and those who occupy it, but our consistent usage of these plastics leads to an excessive amount of non-biodegradable trash that terrorizes our environment and food chains.
Get Rich Harvesting Fuel from CO2 Emissions
Created 5/28/2008 9:05:07 AM
Thanks to Al Gore, we all know by now about the increasing concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and the resulting impact on global climate. Now, 2 researchers from UCSD have developed a prototype device that can capture energy from the sun, convert it to electrical energy and “split” carbon dioxide into carbon monoxide (CO) and oxygen.
Green Really Mattress
Created 5/16/2008 7:35:22 AM
Old mattresses are one of the largest consumer products that clutter landfills today. And, each of us has seen the sad old mattress on the side of the road. many mattresses today include polyurethane, formaldehyde and other materials with questionable effects on the environment and human health, Keetsa is an eco-bedding company that takes a thoroughly green approach to mattresses and other sleep products.
How to Profit from Algae: Power Plants of the Future
Created 5/5/2008 7:29:32 AM
Turning plants such as corn, soybeans and sunflowers into fuel uses much more energy than the resulting ethanol or biodiesel generated, according to a Cornell University and University of California-Berkeley study. The World desperately needs a liquid fuel replacement for oil in the near future, but producing ethanol or biodiesel from plant biomass is the wrong way to do it, because you use more energy to produce them than you get out from the combustion of these product.
Make Big Bucks with Coffee Grounds
Created 4/30/2008 7:34:04 AM
Java-log was invented in 1998 by Rod Sprules, when one evening at his home, he conducted an experiment where he used dried coffee grounds from his coffee maker filter, combined it with candle wax and then compressed it with a pen into an old cigar tube. It burned so well that he made prototypes in a loaf pan and gave it to friends to try … the rest is history.
Earn Millions Turning Pond Scum into Fuel

Algae is the cheapest, highest yielding feedstock for biofuels and biomass for energy. It accumulates waste toxins, grows from polluting waste, does not require conversion of food crops to energy, does not lead to deforestation, and voraciously consumes carbon dioxide. Algae can produce lipid oils for biodiesel, carbohydrates necessary for ethanol, generate hydrogen, generate methane for electrical generation, be used as fertilizer, animal feed, and co-firing in coal electrical plants. Best of all, the energy produced by algae products is carbon neutral as the algae biomass is produced from CO2 in the atmosphere present today.
Grow Your Own Diesel
Created 4/14/2008 7:41:13 AM
The tropical rainforest tree Copaifera langsdorffii is known as the "diesel tree" or "kerosene tree". It produces a large amount of terpene hydrocarbons in its wood and leaves. One tree can produce 30 to 40 liters of hydrocarbons per year. The oil is collected by tree tapping much like rubber trees, but instead of rubbery latex, it gives up a natural biodiesel.
Make Millions, Recycle your Pee
Created 3/31/2008 8:40:24 AM
We think of human pee as gross and something that ought to be vigorously “cleaned up” or sanitized. However, human urine is actually sterile (unlike faeces, urine is bacteria-free). This liquid by product of our daily lives can be a rich food source if it gets into the RIGHT part of the right ecosystem. Now, most human urine travels untreated into the waterways and the excess Nitrogen and Phosphorus in our urine overfeeds algae (like Red Tide) and effectively suffocates fish.
More Bang for Your Walk

Ever wished you could charge your cell phones and laptop on the go - in your car, on a train, or just walking around? There are many new gadgets for mobile renewable energy and one of the the most future-forward new mobile renewable energy device is the kinetic energy charger from M2E Power, Inc.
Social Ride-Sharing: A Green Alternative to Carpooling
Created 2/27/2008 7:37:22 AM
Carpooling reduces the costs involved in repetitive or long distance driving. It is good for the environment because it decreases the number of automobiles circulating on the roads, diminishing the exhaust of Greenhouse gases, and so on. It is a simple way for individuals to take part in the climate change challenge while saving money and conserving energy along the way.
